Meaningful Gifts for Hanukkah for the FamilyGifts for Hanukkah
You need not worry. You will love my list of ideas for all the days included. First and formost, when it comes to gift-giving, especially for gifts for Hanukkah in which there are 8 different gifts to be given each day, you must plan and set a budget way in advance. We can really get caught up during the season and it is easy to spend more than we ought to. To be able to avoid this, you must be sure of what you are willing to spend and makes sure that you stick to it. Your budget will serve as your guide. Another rule of thumb is to always highlight and keep in mind the true meaning of the holiday. It does not necessarily mean that expensive gifts are more meaningful and appreciated. Also, as a member of the family, you need not feel coerced to give gifts for Hanukkah for each day especially if the finances cannot allow it. But much better is, you can always find gifts that will be surely delightful to the family without breaking the bank. For day 1, an ideal gift for Hanukkah would be something that you know the receiver would like but at the same time is fairly priced. Remember, there are still 7 days to go. For mothers, you can give a book of Hanukkah recipes. For fathers, a CD of favorite classical music would be appreciated. For children, you can give a DVD of a movie that all the siblings would be delighted to watch together. For teenage children, inexpensive but essential accessories would be perfect. For day 2, you can give a gift that keeps on giving. This is a perfect day that the entire family can organize a gift giving session to others. Discuss with the family your charitable institution of choice and send a check under each member of the family. You can also go out and have a hospital visitation to cheer up sick people who need your presence. Also, you can do a good deed for each member of the family. Good deeds promote reciprocation and goodwill among members and Hanukkah is the time of the year to show our solidarity. For gifts for Hanukkah for day 3, you can think of a gift that can enhance learning and promote education for each member of the family. For school agechildren, you can give kiddie encyclopedias, workbooks or coloring books. For adults, you can give interesting reference books and self-help books that can eventually be shared to all the members and be stored in the family library of book nook. On day 4, give 'gelt' which means money. Money need not be a huge amount. Remember, it is the thought that counts and sharing doesn’t have to always be extravagant and ostentatious. For the 5th day, give each member a gift for Hanukkah which is related to Judaism. There are a lot of items in the market that are specially made for Hanukkah. There are Hanukkah table wares for homemakers, Hanukkah books and Kosher games for children, Hanukkah chocolates for sweet food lovers, Heirloom Deidrels for Hanukkah and Classic Menorahs for Hanukkah for those you know would appreciate these items. You can shop through the internet and pay through paypal. Shopping for Hanukkah specialty gifts need not be a tedious task of going around in a lot of shops. For day 6, give an eco-friendly gift for Hanukkah. For green thumbs, you can give delightful eco herb growing kits. There are also organic plush stuffed animals for kids, eco-friendly scarves for the fashion-forward, and eco-friendly teethers and rattles for infants. With today’s delightful gravitation towards all things organic and sustainable, gifts are not hard to find in this classification. And for wrapping the gifts, just tear out the pages of old magazines for that chic yet earth-friendly touch. Treat the entire family to an outing they will remember for Day 7. The gift of experience is truly much more than tangible objects wrapped in ribbons. The gift of experience will last in each member’s memories. It’s truly a gift for Hanukkah that is sure to last. An outing could be a special day to a park, ttickets to a favorite event for the family or a unique just-at-home special tea party. Finally for day 8, since this is the last day of Hanukkah, if you want to give an extravagant or extra special gift of your choice for the particular member of the family, this is the perfect day. Truly Hanukkah is a best-loved celebration for a Jewish family and hopefully, my little list helped. Enjoy!
